Our Practice Nurses

The team is led by Sister Christina Smith who works closely with Sister Jocelyn Ablorde, Sister Tracey Pugh and Healthcare Assistant Jill Pearce.

Nurses and our Nurse Technician are available by appointment, or as soon as possible in emergencies. They perform a variety of medical procedures for which they have received specialist training. These include:

Dressings
Ear syringing
Stitch removal
Immunisations (including childhood and foreign travel)
Cervical smears
Blood pressure checks
ECGs
Asthma, COPD, thyroid, heart disease and diabetic checks
Cryotherapy/wart removal

District Nurses

The community staff work closely with the practice and specialise in patient care within the community. They look after those patients recently discharged from hospital, the housebound and new parents with young families.

Health Visitors

The health visiting team, although based elsewhere work closely with the practice. They specialise in child health focusing significantly on 0-5 year olds and their families. They can be contacted on 01202 399016.

Midwives & Maternity Care

A number of midwives, who are based at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, work in both the surgery and the community. They are available for your care during pregnancy. They also oversee childbirth in the local GP maternity unit. To contact them please ring 01202 303626.

Psychologists & Counsellors

The practice has access to Psychologists & Counsellors. Although based elsewhere the practitioners will often see patients at our surgery after an appropriate referral.
