A New Way to Access Online Services

Due to popular demand we have re-designed the portal on our website that allows you to access online services. We have done this in an attempt to make the portal easier to find and use. The portal now has its own tab called “Online Services”. This tab is on the top bar, 3rd from the left. This does away with the need to access this tab from a drop down menu. Once you are on the portal page, it is now clearly indicated where you need to click to access the login page. If anybody has any further ideas about how access to this service could be improved we would welcome you to contact us using our contact form which can be found here.

New website page, Child and Teenage Health

The self-care / referral section of our website has been updated with a new page, Child and Teenage Health. This page gives information about the Healthier Together service which aims to give advice to parents and teenagers on a broad spectrum of health related issues. The page can be found here.

Healthwatch Dorset

Healthwatch is the new independent consumer champion created to gather and represent the views of the public. It exists in two distinct forms a€“ local Healthwatch and Healthwatch England, at national level. The aim of local Healthwatch is to give citizens and communities a stronger voice to influence and challenge how health and social care services are provided within their locality. We now have a page of our website dedicated to healthwatch and this page also contains a link to their website. You can find the page here.

20/02/2015 SMS Text Reminder Issue!

There has been a small technical issue with an overnight update to our clinical computer system that may have caused SMS text reminders to be sent out to patients by mistake. If you are booked in for phlebotomy/bloods your appointment will still take place at the Shelley Road clinic rather than here. If you believe you have received a text message by mistake and wish to check your appointment please call the surgery on 01202 309421 and a secretary will be happy to confirm the details for you. Thank you for your understanding.

Electronic Prescription System

Soon there will be a new way to get your medicines and appliances as Shelley Manor Medical Centre moves towards implementing the Electronic Prescription Service for our patients. The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service. It gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from. To find out more please visit our Electronic Prescription Service page.
